So sorry...

Lamest excuses I have ever used to turn down a date:

– "I don't like Jimmy Barnes concerts."
– "I don't like cocktail parties."
– "My dad won't let me."
(Sadly, I was 17 when I used this. Even more sadly, it might have been true.)

Lamest excuses my sister has ever used to turn down a date:

– "I'm not really a night-time person."

If you've done worse, share. You know how we love a laugh at someone else's expense....

  1. hmmmm... let's see.

    - I'm kind of busy
    - I'm really tired
    - you really don't want to date me

    those are pretty lame.

  2. I don't think I've ever turned down a date (not been asked on many!) but a guy once used this pick up line:

"You're not that bad looking ya know"

He was drunk and was actually pretty ugly, ya know?

  3. Oh those are great! I can't remember any good ones I've used (if there ever were any 'good' ones), but the old "family emergency" was always on standby though.

  4. Woo I'm soooo busy right now, really, overwhelmed!

I'm really not your type, you just don't know it yet.

Hmmm, I wonder what my boyfriend will think about that.

  5. I was always so polite. "Oh I'm sorry, I already have plans, but thanks for asking!"

And then I would avoid them like the plague.

My lamest excuse - and this is no joke, I said this out of panic in the 10th grade:

"I shouldn't really date, I'm thinking of becoming a nun."

I still wince every time I remember it. Not only was it a complete untruth, but I'm not even Catholic. I haven't even told my husband this one.

  7. haha, those crack me up.

I remember telling a guy that I was still crazy in love with my ex and didn't want to make him jealous.

oh my, he just wasn't getting the hints. :)
